Dr. Orhan Ürüncan YÜCEL serves as a research assistant in the Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, Division of Labour Law and Social Security Law at Fırat University. He holds a PhD from Ankara University, where he completed his dissertation in 2025 on the working conditions and organising practices of platform-based motorcycle couriers. The dissertation received an honourable mention in the 2026 Prof. Dr. Cahit Talas Social Policy Award.
YÜCEL’s research focuses primarily on the intersection of labour law and digitalisation. His work critically examines the transformations in working life, organising practices and social policy. Prior to his current role, he worked as a research assistant at the Faculty of Political Sciences (Mülkiye), Ankara University, for over nine years.
